Management training can deliver new skills to large groups of people. But what happens next, when there is increased expertise but still room for improvement? There are several alternatives, ranging from further highly-tuned classroom events to on-the-job support. One step on from management training come Master Classes. Designed for your staff who already have reasonable experience in project, programme or change management, they deliver top-up guidance on specific issues--determined by you. Usually lasting between two hours and a half-day, they are lively, interactive sessions that enable your staff to learn from our experience and iron out particular problems. Beyond classroom events come the on-the-job support services. A Buddy provides one-to-one support working alongside a manager running a major project or change programme. The aim of the Buddy is to be on hand, substantially full-time, to ensure that all aspects of programme management are carried out effectively. This is a hands-on role, where we will provide the answers if necessary, and become an extra pair of hands when the going gets tough. In contrast, our Coaching service doesn't provide any answers at all! However, it does provide support, encouragement, a 'sounding board' and motivation. Aimed at the experienced programme manager who is pretty much ready to go it alone, coaching can be conducted face-to-face, by phone, by email--whatever suits your needs. |
